Made by a pottery in the Alentejo region of Portugal, these terracotta mugs are prized for their graphic blue and black design and the fact that each is hand-thrown and hand-decorated.
Since these are handmade items we think of them as 'perfectly imperfect' and any mark in the glaze only adds to the charm of the piece.
Care: Hand wash recommended. ** All pieces must be washed in hot soapy water, well rinsed and air dried before first use.
Please note, this mug may initially feel damp on the base when filled. This is a perfectly natural process called sweating, and will lessen over time and use.

Visit product page →Each piece is thrown on the potter's wheel and is then dried in the Alentejo sun before being first fired. It's then dipped in white clay, glazed and then fired a second time. The pottery is family-owned and has been in business for over 200 years.
