Portugal Gifts is a 100% Portuguese brand, originally from Caldas da Rainha, a pottery city for excellence which is always looking for a new perspective for one of the most representative Portuguese traditional arts.

This piece was handmade with traditional processes, it could have small irregularities that characterize it as a unique piece.

The Cabbage Collection, in its rough and flat form, could be used as a metaphor for Portuguese rustic ways, which Bordallo had so many times caricatured. This was a clever way to honour it, placing it on the bourgeoisê tables, where other way it had not been invited.

Care:

Microwave resistance - Products must not be empty when used in a microwave. Always use a handle or an appropriate glove when removing heated earthenware pieces from the microwave as they may be hot.

Dishwasher safe, but should not be left in the dishwasher for long periods of time, after the cycle, as the generated steam can damage the pieces.

Bordallo Pinheiro’s pieces are not resistant to a great thermal variation. Avoid putting very warm pieces in cold places or in contact with cold water with a transition time.

Made by a master potter whose family has been in the business for over 200 years, these pieces mix a contemporary feel with traditional techniques. Wheel-thrown terracotta plates are partly dipped in a white clay slip.

Lagos Collection

1900 marks the beginning of our history. We started in a small

workshop where the pieces were made entirely by hand on a

potter’s wheel and then cooked in a wood kiln. Over the years

and with the advance of technology, we always tried to invest

in innovative equipment, adding to them the know-how that has

enabled us to grow and acquire the experience we have today.

In 1988 we founded Vasicol - Portugal Terracota. From

the beginning, our commitment has always been to

look to the future with a great sense of challenge and

responsibility towards our partners and employees, but

also to look to the past with great pride in the way we have

traveled through time and what we have already achieved

Bold Stripe Collection:

Mix it up! We love when patterns mix and match which is why we came up with these three coordinating patterns - Ray, Stripe and Dash. The graphic lines work beautifully on the simple form of this wheel-thrown plate, and each is hand painted by craftspeople at a family-owned local pottery. They are, as Casa Cubista loves to call them, perfectly imperfect - And they're all the better for it.

Care: Hand wash recommended. ** Prior to first use, all pieces should be washed by hand in hot soapy water, well rinsed and allowed to air dry. To maintain the integrity of the pieces (i.e. colour, glaze), dishwasher use is not recommended.
