The graphic lines work beautifully on these traditional low bowls, and each is hand painted by craftspeople at a family-owned local pottery. They are, as Casa Cubista loves to call them, perfectly imperfect - And they're all the better for it.

Use this bowl just about anywhere in the house - On a desk to gather bits and bobs or at the table serving up something fresh and delicious.

Made by a pottery in the Alentejo region of Portugal, these terracotta mugs are prized for their graphic blue and white/black and white/green and white design and the fact that each is hand-thrown and hand-decorated.

While we think these rustic wheel-thrown tumblers are great for a beer, they'd also be ace for any kind of cold beverage you fancy (the clay is a natural insulator and will keep your drink nice and cool). But! If you end up using them as a bud vase or a desk tidy for pens and pencils, who are we to complain?

Each tumbler holds approx. 270 ml.

Each cheese plate is first thrown as a flat disc on the potter's wheel, before being cut into a rectangular shape, and with a circle cut to allow the piece to be hung. It is then dried in the Alentejo sun before being first fired. It's then dipped in white clay, glazed and then fired a second time. The pottery is family-owned and has been in business for over 200 years.

‘Perfectly imperfect’ - some marks in the glaze are natural and expected, as is some crazing. This will not affect the use or durability of the pieces.

Our Rustic Terracotta Collection is made using a rough, traditional form of red terracotta clay that has been used for centuries. Made by a master potter who's family has been in the business for over 200 years, grit and small stones are normal within the clay, as is an uneven glazed surface. The pattern is made by the potter dipping his hand into a white clay slip and artfully dripping it across the surface.

This collection is oven safe: Pieces must be at room temperature before being used in the oven or under the grill. A diffuser must be used if a piece is used on a gas burner.
