Claus Porto was established in 1887 in Porto, Portugal by the Ach Brito Company, one of the oldest family-owned soap and perfume manufacturers in Portugal. The Claus Porto Bath Soap and Body Care line is still produced using the same tried and tested turn of the century methods and techniques, only using the finest and most high quality ingredients. A traditional brand, Claus Porto seeks innovation, pursuing a philosophy that is artisanal oriented, yet keeping pace with modern standards.

Jute is a very strong fibre and our bags can hold up to 10 kgs for the small and 14 kgs for the large.

Our bags have our new signature stripe around the edge/gusset. It is the same colour as the writing.
STORY - It has now become a joyous design collaboration between The Jacksons’ and the skilful handicraft workers in south-west Bangladesh, creating the beautiful and durable hand-crafted jute “word-bags”.
We have grown from a workforce of less than 100 women to over 1000 artisans in South West Bangladesh, an area where there are few job opportunities for them. We are also working with small communities of artisans in other parts of Bangladesh. All of these teams are predominantly made up of women, who are paid directly giving them independence and status, empowering them to make decisions within the family.
This is helping The Jackson’s fulfil a mission close to their hearts - to create as many job opportunities as possible.
The benefit of jute is that it is very strong- our bags can carry between 10 kgs -14 kgs. Each bag contains 450m of jute. Our jute bags are handmade and no machinery is used at all throughout the process, except for the dying. Only Azo free dyes are used.

Instructions and care: For a better cleaning of the piece, we recommend to use a soft cloth, adding a small amount of water if necessary, and gently wipe over it
